Sonic The Hedgehog 3 took the top spot in New Zealand, grossing $1.27M during its opening week, with its total now at $1.56M including previews. Mufasa: The Lion King followed with an additional $1.04M, bringing the cume to $2.15M. Moana 2 secured 3rd place with $821k and its total gross is now at $8.31M.

Meanwhile, Paddington in Peru was the highest-grossing film on New Year's Day, earning $180k on its opening day.
