Paddington in Peru was the highest-grossing film on New Year's Day in Australia, earning over $1M for its opening day. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 followed in 2nd with $928k, while Nosferatu, also opened on New Year Day, took 3rd with $904k.

Total grosses for the week saw Sonic The Hedgehog 3 at No. 1 taking over $10M for its opening week. Mufasa: The Lion King added $6.31M bringing the cume to $12.62M and Moana 2 added $4.76M closing in on a total gross $41M.
